Review: On this sequel to the label's brilliant Italian house retrospective, Ciao Italia, the team at Rebirth Records has moved on to the early '90s and the next stage in Italy's electronic music evolution. Of course, the piano-laden, loved-up breeziness that marked out the earlier 'dream house' wave is still evident, but this time there's more low-slung basslines, tribal-influenced drums, and heavy late-night grooves. With a deeper and more diverse track listing, it's undoubtedly a brilliant sequel, with our picks of a very strong bunch including Donato Dozzy & Rumi's deep tribal house workout 'Flusso', Flavio Vecchi & House Pillar's bouncy 'Dancing On A Thin Line (Goin' Deep Mix)', T.R.A's thrusting, analogue-rich 'Take My Heart' and the frankly bonkers-but-brilliant 'LaLaLaa' by Cosmos.

Review: Gabriel "Lele" Sacchi joined Rebirth last year, following an impressive 2016 solo debut on Prins Thomas's Internasjonal imprint. Surprisingly, this is the producer's first single for 12 months. "Dreaming Won't Do" is impressively positive and colourful, with Chic style disco guitar stabs and dreamy vocal samples from a classic disco-boogie cut rising attractively above an Italo disco-inspired groove. Tiger and Woods reach for the pianos on their fantastic peak-time house rework, before former Visionquest twosome Benoit & Sergio re-cast the track as a strobe-friendly chunk of Moroder-inspired Euro-disco brilliance that will have dancers reaching for the lasers in no time at all.

Review: Since setting their stall out in 2006, the Rebirth label has tried to reflect changing tastes, mixing up their releases accordingly. This expansive compilation showcases a selection of their disco-tinged releases and remixes, casually moving between dubbed-out nu-disco, revivalist fare and disco-leaning house. There's plenty for disco diggers to enjoy, from he spacey, low-end throb of Mock & Toof's remix of Nufrequency and Faze Action's bouncing synth-disco re-cut of Stretch Silvester, to a vintage, synth-laden collaboration between Spirit Catcher and Ilija Rudman. There's also an early, pre-hype remix from Tensnake and a typically adventurous Dr Dunks outing from Eric Duncan.
