Review: Fur Coat are the latest act to grace Joesph Capriati's label, and their debut is executed in an effortless fashion. The pair, who are known mainly for releases on Crosstown Rebels and Watergate, open their Redimension account with the pulsing, string-soaked "Mercury Retrograde"; menacing and moody, it is still unquestionably funky thanks to the powerful bass and streamlined percussion. On "Repeat V2", the pair opt for a deeper sound as claps roll in like thunder on the horizon and the bass throbs relentlessly. "Cygnus" resounds to rocky kicks and bleeps that flicker seductively, while "Messenger of God" bristles with ebm-infused menace.
