Review: Manchester's rEJEKT Music returns this week with John Morabito aka Dark & Stormy, a producer and DJ living in Brooklyn, NY. With previous releases on Hotfingers and Top Billing, he blends futurism, minimalism and a return to mid-'90s sensibilities made for earbuds and clubs alike. "Feel Me East Coast" (Club Dub) channels that timeless deep Chicago sound as heard on seminal imprints like Guidance and Distance back in the day, followed by a moody NYC style tech house rework by the man Joeski. Elsewhere, there's late-night mood music catered for on the NSFW "Fuq With Me" getting the remix treatment up next by Toronto duo Siwark & Hassio - who are back on the scene after a long hiatus.

Review: Manchester's rEJEKTS are better known for making "deep, throbbing slightly weird shit", but they've thrown us a curveball on "Strung Out In Reno". Serving as a prequel to their upcoming 7 Years of rEJEKT double mix compilation, they originally intended to release the maudlin tribal grinder under the alias 'Species' such is the musical departure here (the Hungarian Philharmonic Orchestra even make an appearance!). "Skinnfog" meanwhile, is a pulsating punk-funk prog-out. Two sizzling remixes also included are Brett Johnson's slinky tech-houser and Kosmic's deeply percussive "Strung Out" version.
