Review: Taking no prisoners from the first beat, "Primitive Beginnings" is minimal techno in its purest form. Edging ever closer to resolution but keeping that terrifying distance, Taiwanese producer Stingrays proves to be fluent in the art of creating unbearable tension; along with Singaporean Xhin, Asia seems to has caught the techno bug and it's harsher and more brutal than ever. Working with Madrid's own Structural Form, a man with many aliases, the pair devise an unforgivingly sparse yet somehow simultaneously multi-layered EP, the likes of which is rarely so convincing.
