Twilight
Twilight (original) - (8:27) 123 BPM Hot
Twilight (Disko Biskits Non origianl remix) - (6:02) 123 BPM
Review: The Manhattan duo arrive with their unique brand of deep house with tech-house influences. "Twilight" is a lush, deep groover filled with sun-drenched pads, thick bass and the kind of smooth vocal vibes that will go down well with the Hot Creations set. The Disko Biskits remix meanwhile opts to dub out the vocals, strip out the Balearic tendencies out for a more rugged, mechanical groove.

Renaissance 20th Anniversary Tribute EP
New Guinea (2012 re-work) - (6:51) 123 BPM Hot
Give You Love - (7:51) 123 BPM
Review: Like any cliche, there is an element of truth in the adage that 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'. Thankfully, Manhattan has resisted the urge to tinker too much with Future Sound of London's seminal early 90s rave track, "Papua New Guinea". The groove is subtler and pulsing, the overall mood is deeper and the breakdowns are less dramatic than on the original version. This version is part of a release that celebrates legendary UK club Renaissance's 20th birthday, and is backed with "Give You Love", a rolling DJ tool track that samples the looped up vocals used on countless hardcore records.

Panfried
Panfried (original mix) - (7:50) 125 BPM Hot
Panfried (Backroom dub) - (9:08) 123 BPM
Review: This collaboration flies in the face of current tool house trends, but in so doing, delivers timeless results. In its original format, "Panfried" centres on a resonating, acid-soaked bassline that ebbs and flows effortlessly and which supports an evocative, haunting female vocal. It's reminiscent of the deeper end of the H-Foundation sound or the best of late 90s San Fran house. The Backroom Dub is more jacking, but here too traces of deep house from a different era are audible. The bassline is warmer and more fluid and the squelchy acid lines are sure to bring older listeners on a trip down memory lane. For the younger fans, there's the thrill of the first time to satisfy!
