Review: Following last year's Miami bass-focused release , Dynamik Bass System returns to Robotmachine. Focused on synergies between European and Detroit electro variants, the compilation starts with the vocodered funk of "Light Up The Dark". A more introspective take on the sound is audible on the dramatic synths of "Fade Into Oblivion" and the title track, where a warbling bass is paired with eerie melodies. On "The Infinite Void", Dynamik Bass System's focus switches to an 80s sound - with high-pitched vocoders combined with an electro funk bass - while he mines a similar period for the melancholic synth pirouettes of "The Cosmos Is Indifferent".

Review: Germany's Robotmachine Records steps up with a gorgeous little collection of tracks by some new names in the game and delivers a fine lesson in electro-ridden foul-play. Das Muster's "Immaterieller Export" is a noisy, Drexciyan blaster with all guns blazing, whereas "Astral Exit" by =UHU= is a spacier, more sci-fi kind of track - a glorious mashup of electro squalls and battleship sonics. Thomas Kress gives us "Fabelhafte Welt Der Anomalie", another nasty and hard-hitting power-cut, whilst Bruno Binary's "Binary Control" takes Kraftwerk-style robotics and adds a harder edge to create yet another floor-burner.

Review: Utilize Me is the debut release for Munich electro producer Thomas Kress, who, clearly inspired by the likes of Drexciya and Cybotron, delivers an EP of pulsating arpeggios, buzz-saw synths and Optimus Prime vocals - heard best on the title track and remix by Robotmachine boss Dynamik Bass System. Paying homage to his home town, "Munich Making Machine" is as creepy and interstellar as it is beat down and funked-up. After 10 years of not releasing music TecRoc enigmatically reappears to remix the track, replacing lo-fidelity sonics with a harder dynamic tension. "Beat Terrorist" bleeps like a '90s techno track that's somehow slipped through the cracks into the pop charts, while flickered 808 drums and grimey, pulsing synths make up "Aggressive Machine".
