Review: Rock It Science Laboratories are known for their impressionistic and diverse take on electronic music - a catalogue spanning all corners of house, electro and more - which often falls deeply into the low-frequencies. This time around, Italy's Kick Oh kicks back with a stellar EP for the label, featuringan original mix of "I Want Your Love", a summer-fuelled anthem containing some of the most seductive vocal chops going, and "Building Houses" - a jazzy, percussion-driven deep house monster for all your after-party needs. Remixing the former, we have Eric Sharp transforming the original's bass stutters into jittering tech-house bursts, whilst Louis Baker takes care of the latter and produces one murderous stomp and an even nastier array of melodies and gnarly background vocals.

Review: He probably won't win any prizes for modesty with the title of this release, but Sharp's musical approach is certainly worthy of praise. "Help Me" is all breathy textures and swinging offbeats, the steely precision of minimal house mixed with the deeper sound of Detroit. The DAMB remix veers closer to minimalism; while it retains the original's sense of swing, the rhythm is tougher and the percussion more insistent. Sharp follows DAMB's example on "Organized Confusion"; there, tough drums and tonal shifts usher in a harder, less musical sound. It's a similar story on "Avusadora", featuring Bass Cadet, which focuses on a jacking rhythm and a repetitive vocal sample.
