136 BPM Review: Next up with Romulus, we see the enigmatic sounds of Sh?m land once again, this time for a potent four track display of dubstep-influenced brilliance. We begin with the jazzy instrumentation and future-bass-like synth action of 'Dispirited', which following on from a two minute introduction, descends into twisted bass madness. The pace then quickens dramatically on 'SKRWFACE' which sees BLNT get involved for some hard hitting synth design and crunchy drum punches, followed by the stunning percussive stutters and floaty pad textures of 'Late Nights, Early Mornings', creating a whirlpool of purple soundscapes. Finally, 'Voyager' draws all of Sh?m's influences into one central bundle with a groovy final piece, alternating between grizzly synth slaps and harmonious chiming pulses. What a project this is!
