Anafogue - (6:48)
124 BPM Anafogue (David Herrero remix) - (6:42) 124 BPM
Review: Talk about a transformation. Harry Romero, who appears to have the ditched the 'Choo Choo' part of his name, used to specialise in upfront US tribal house. As "Anafogue" shows, it seems like he now wants to bring a more nuanced approach to his work. The title track revolves around a rolling, muscular bass, while the rhythm is more offbeat and angular than before. Despite this, "Anafogue" is just as impactful as the old Romero sound. David Herrero, who is due to release his debut album on Saved later this year, has been tasked with providing the remix. Adding in subsonic bleeps and a menacing vocal sample, he doesn't deviate radically from the original's sound, but does manage to make it trippier.
