Review: This compilation defines the rise and rise of stripped back house and techno so accurately that it could easily be re-named the 'best of minimal'. Indeed, it's fair to say that Droplex has covered all bases here: from the upfront rhythms and rolling bass of "Minimal Monster" and "Hardkore" - which breaks to a male vocal ominously intoning the track title - to the stuttering, hiccuping beats of "Mariska" and "Animal" right through to the buzzing bass and waves of white noise on "Colombian Cocaine" and the jet engine sounds and lunging groove of "Diamond", all forms of minimal life are contained herein.
