Review: For the latest release on his own Sycthe imprint, Mark Dekoda channels the energy and creativity of 90s techno. Central to "Illusion" is a gurgling, raw acid line that's redolent of Hardfloor and the Pump Panel work. Dekoda transplants this sound to the backdrop of epic, trance builds and a pumping rhythm. These combined elements make for a dramatic, effective club track. The German producer makes a change in approach on the title track. The menacing 303s are absent, replaced by a combination of frosty synths, break downs and builds, with a series of ethereal vocal samples playing out in the background for added drama.
Review: Delivering sinister Need For Speed themes to the Scythe Recordings is German producer Mark Dekoda, bringing with him a techy, trance and hard NRG infused sound. Calling upon the spirits of '90s trance and techno, Dekoda's "Virtual Damage" pumps hard with stammering basslines, warehouse sized synth stabs and stressed chase themes, whereas "Schwarzes Signal" takes in Drumcode techno influences, melodious arpeggios and deep, inspiring synth atmospheres. Between reality & darkness you'll find Mark Dekoda.
