Review: Jamie Thinnes' Seasons was a strong staple of the west coast house scene at the turn of the millennium and the label was instrumental in launching the careers of legends like Cpen, Lance Desardi and Natural Rhythm whose Earhtomes has receive a renewed interest. It was in actual fact the parent label once in the beginning for the first ten releases of Seasons. Sublabel Seasons Limited on the other hand launched around 2000 and had early releases by then less known producers like Andy Caldwell, Franck Roger and Berlin's Cab Drivers: who inaugurated the imprint. It returns with London based Jose Carretas who serves up "Breathe Into Me" featuring Angel A's sultry vocals and is classic timeless deep house in the vein of legends like Jon Cutler or Miguel Migs with its sexy sax solo, emotive strings and all round mellow groove. "The World In Action" is a bit more lively on this funky live band/latin via Fela Kuti number with slap bass, steel drums and groovy wah-wah guitar action; but wait for those church organs to come in: class!

Review: Legendary Los Angeles imprint Seasons Recordings continue on with a successful run of late, with elusive yet legendary East coast production team Steal Vybe. Chris Forman started his musical career as a club DJ turned solo producer, who desired to experiment with new sounds and influences. He then began collaborating with other musicians to add a different flavour to his compositions. Forman set out to meet Mr. Damon 'Dizzy Fingers' Bennett, courtesy of Philadelphia vocalist Lady Alma - who had been collaborating with both musicians separately. Chris and Damon soon realized how their styles and tastes were very similar, yet brought out different colours in each other's music. They became friends and decided to make a professional leap of faith to combine their talents. Their absolutely brilliant here cover of the Lisa Stansfield classic "Change" comes in two super soulful and life affirming versions that reach the heights of MAW productions. If that wasn't enough: Toronto's favourite sons Dino & Terry appear and work their magic on a bunch of ultra deep and sultry renditions.
