Clout
Jook, Boofy & P Money - "Clout" - (3:23) 96 BPM Hot
Jook & Boofy - "Clout" (instrumental) - (3:23) 96 BPM
Review: What a link up we have here as the raucous sounds of Bristol's finest meet a grime legend in smokey style. If we are honest, there are few names in grime music who can claim a catalogue the same level as P Money, who arrives on this sizzling new instrumental from Jook & Boofy in rapturous form. He lays a barrage of high energy punchlines down over a backdrop laced with haunted choir vocals, sharpened percussive pops and silky rhythmic designs, showing us just how potent a combo the two Sector 7 veterans can be. This one also comes complete with the full instrumental drop to match, which even as a stand alone design packs a hell of a punch.

Pray 4 U (feat Olivia Louise) - (4:50) 133 BPM
Review: It's always exciting to see the innovators return, a theme we can explore heavily with this latest drop from Sector 7 Sounds as Killjoy makes his long awaited return across four rave-ready belters. First up, the pulsating sweetness of 'Let's Go' opens up the project with a bulbous approach, sharpening 4x4 drum stutters and heavy LFO sweeps, before 'Got Myself Together' throws us into the heart of moody garage flavour with some highly energetic drum work to match. We then land in the funky section of the EP as 'Dark Spirit' fuses intricate drum arrangements with distant harmonics and a powerful bassline below, before the instantly recognizable vocal prowess of Olivia Louise can be heard, chopped and screwed about the vibrant bass warbles of 'Pray 4 U', giving us a seriously tasty closer.

Kaleidoscope - (3:01) 140 BPM
Polar Opposite - (3:27) 140 BPM Hot
No Future - (3:13) 134 BPM
Review: Over the years we have seen Drone move into numerous different electronic areas, with this latest reuniting with Sector 7 Sounds being the most experimental yet. We open up with 'Malevolent', an 808-driven sweep through intense synth lines and almost horrorcore style melodies, before 'Kaleidoscope' gives us a much more classic sounding Drone arrangement, focussing on smooth drum processing and digital-flute-like melodies. The title track 'Polar Opposite' then rides into view, utilizing a dizzying display of electronic percussion for a serious vibrant slap, before everything is stripped back for the eerie soundscapes of 'No Future', which through dissonant yet pleasing harmonies, rounding out the project with more unique textures.

Scabz/Guah
Scabz - (6:11) 136 BPM Hot
Guah - (4:07) 140 BPM
Review: When you see the names Commodo and Sector 7 Sounds on the same page you instantly become excited as a 140 music fan. This latest offering is exactly what the doctor ordered as the A-side 'Scabz' once again explores the magnificent production mindstate of Commodo, linking distant, bubbly melodic plucks with grizzly sub-bass pounds below a shaker-heavy rhythm section. The flipside 'Guah' is a much more classic sounding Commodo original, with washes of unique percussion giving the track an instant level of depth between unpredictable high ended stabs and more subtle-subby goodness. Incredible stuff from two of the most consistent names in 140!

Lookacha/Unwary
Lookacha - (4:30) 142 BPM Hot
Unwary - (4:41) 93 BPM
Review: Established in 2013, Sector 7 Sounds has brought us some of the very best from Impey, Kahn & Neek, Boofy & Ishan Sound, to underground act Jook. It's been HQ for Jook since he debuted with the label in 2017, turning in the Flying Nimbus 12" in 2018, with this Lookacha/Unwary double following Kahn & Neek's highly-touted (Having A Sick Time) In The Mansions Of Bliss from earlier this year. For straight up urban dubs with attitude it's "Lookacha '' with its stabby rhythm and smacking snares hitting the spot erry time. With cooler, housier and floating ambient atmospheres in "Unwary" to evenly offset this release, Sector 7 Sounds adds yet another hit to its underground signature sound.

Venus - (3:43) 132 BPM
Review: With an already impeccable catalogue of top quality releases, Sector 7 sees the return of the legendary Kahn & Neek combo for four new scorchers. We kick off with the title track 'In The Mansions Of Bliss', a highly harmonic steppy roller, fueled with twisted melodic grooves and pleasing sound design throughout. This is chased up by the slower tempos of 'Random Lab', a more dungeon-ready design again filled with chilling atmospheric layouts. Next up, the glitchy synth stutters and subtle eski-influences of 'Shimmer', before we finish up on 'Venus', a stunning piece of soundscaping, incorporating angelic vocal lines, emotive string lines and luscious pad textures. Very cool indeed!
