Don't Even Kno/Bomboclat
Cesrv - "Don't Even Kno" (original mix) - (2:51) 107 BPM
Cesrv - "Don't Even Kno" (Symbiotic Sounds remix) - (2:57) 80 BPM
Played by: KXVU
Review: We here see a lesson in footwork excellence as Cesrv & Symbiotic Sounds team up in style for four tracks of varying styles and natures. The pair get busy building their own creations and remixing each others work, kicking off with the hard hitting snare driven rhythms of Cesrv's 'Don't Even Kno', followed by a very unusual, airy original entitled 'Bomboclat' from Symbiotic Sounds. The remixes do their job and then some as Symbiotic Sounds rework 'Don't Even Kno' into a trappy little creeper, followed by Cersv's nostalgic refunk of 'Bomboclat', drawing influences from junglistic synthesizers from start to finish.

808's & Hard Breakz
This Is How I Feel - (3:59) 80 BPM
Boutdatlife - (4:20) 80 BPM
Review: "808's & Hard Breakz" is the freshest release in the Sequel One catalogue and it is authored by a German producer DJ ENDS. The EP is made up of 6 tracks carried in the juke/footwork style, although the producer allowed himself to step outside the boundaries of the classic Chicago sound. The classic percussion rhythms of Roland's 808 drum machine are intertwined with chopped amen break samples and sounds straight out of Hip-Hop productions. This base layer gets drizzled with vocals stemming from the vibes of R&B, Hip Hop and Brazilian funk. All this makes the EP an interesting case without any boundaries which was made for the dance floor, as well as for those who love to bust out some experimental electronic music in the safety of their home. Without a doubt, DJ ENDS is the kind of person who sets out trends in music, so this EP can be taken as a new direction in boosting the popularity of the "neo-juke" scene out of it's infancy.

The Prequel
Perfect Day - (3:32) 80 BPM Hot
Summer Wind - (3:40) 107 BPM
Review: Ah yes, another Sequel One release for us this week, which pretty much means we kick off the weekend in high spirits and, of course, with a heavy selection of tunes at our disposal. Symbiotic Sounds returns with five killer cuts, all sample-filled and constructed with the sort of MPC magic that is hard to recreate on a desktop screen. Jazzy, soulful and yet just on the right side of dark and moody, The Prequel is exactly the right sort of cocktail for hip-hop, house or footwork producers who like to swing to some outernational vibes - warmly recommended material, right here!

Microdosing
Between Us - (2:17) 123 BPM
It's Getting Serious - (4:04) 80 BPM
Review: "MICRODOSING" is a debut album, coming directly from a Poznan native - Lux Familiar. His music could be heard on releases from labels such as Polish Juke and Alkopoligamia. A rare ability of easily finding the way across a variety of musical genres, has enabled the artist to showcase his vast production skills - something the album's title relates to. On "MICRODOSING" we will then find an eclectic mix of modern hip-hop, R&B, footwork and jungle, which have a few things in common. Namely, heavy basslines, hard pounding drum machines and catchy melodies. Although it sounds busy, the disc had space for more soothing, ambient compositions.

Review: Producer from Brazil, Cesrv whose musical endeavours started back in 2006, he's an important figure in the Brazilian bass scene. He managed to score some fruitful collaborations outside his home country, with the likes of DJ Rashad and Taso to name a few. After his single "STRTZ", on the "Groove Sounds & Twisted Rhythms Vol. V" compilation, the artist shows us his arsenal of abilities and his musical maturity on his debut EP "HIGH". The tracks found on this record are rhythmically pulsating compositions pulling us closer to the climate of South America, fueled by the most recent sounds in the electronic music world of jungle and footwork.
