Review: Following 2022's Time In Motion, Cirkle returns to SK_eleven. With a broad dance floor focus, this four-tracker showcases his ability to craft distinctive, impactful techno. The title track resounds to woozy synth stabs and insistent claps, unfolding over a rolling groove. It sounds like a near perfect hybrid of Swedish loop techno and Detroit minimalism. Remaining in minimal techno territory, "Lunar Orbit" is a perfectly weighted, pared back track, while Cirkle explores a more visceral interpretation of this sound with the bruising, analogue groove of "Evolving". He maintains the same energy level on "Quantum Shift", where dubbed out sound scapes unfold over a rolling rhythm.

Review: Kameliia is a rising star within the techno firmament, and this debut release on SK_eleven confirms her ascent. The title track is a deep, dubbed out affair that is nonetheless powered by a gently pulsating groove. In contrast, "120 Miles An Hour" is more up tempo. It revolves around a sleek, percussive rhythm and is populated by ghostly synths. "Taken" sees Kameliia subtly ramp up the intensity level. Underpinned by ghostly synths and rasping hi hats, its understated pulse still has the requisite power to work on more discerning dance floors. "I Told You Twice" adopts a similar approach but has a different sound design - eerie tones and muffled vocal samples are set to snapping percussion and an irresistibly off-beat rhythm.

Review: Border One returns to SK_Eleven after 2020's Restless. With a focus on lean, club-focused rhythms, Inner Sight is sure to appeal to discerning techno DJs. "Third Vision" is based on a driving rhythm, with Border One layering visceral textures against this backdrop. "Optical Void" ventures down a more hypnotic path. Led by an insistent, nagging groove and rasping percussion, droning synths lend it a tripped-out sensibility. Border One heads in a different direction for "Mind's Eye". Here, dense, swinging drums and a bruising rhythm prevail. Keeping the audience guessing, "Inner Sight" is a tweaked, acidic workout that teems with insistent hi hats.

Review: Setaoc Mass is best known for his tough, uncompromising dance floor techno, but he brings a range of other flavours to bear on his debut album. "Fall Within" and "Before You Go, Let Me Say One Thing" are dreamy, downtempo tracks, while "A Nod To Bryn" sees him veer into the type of glitchy electronics more commonly associated with Warp. The album also sees Setaoc Mass experiment with drum'n'bass, an approach that yields the ghostly textures and brooding sub-bass of "Marching in March". There are some nods to his signature techno sound; especially on the rolling broken beats of "Witness", but in the main, Horror Vacui is a deeply rewarding, experimental affair.

Review: Next up on Setaoc Mass' label is a debut EP from Holden Federico. Despite this being a relatively new artist, the range and depth of sound on offer here is impressive. "This Is Who You Are" bristles with the minimal energy of vintage Robert Hood, while on a similar note, the title track sees Federico drop a stripped back workout, this time injected with a funk bassline. On "Either One Of Us" this emerging producer embraces loop techno, but in his hands, the doubled up drums and insistent stabs sound dynamic. "As Infinite" covers a more mellow side to his sound, with a rolling groove populated by evocative melodies.

Review: Hot on the heels of his recent split release for Klockworks, Cravo returns to SK_eleven for a storming release. "Innervision" is a tough tribal track that resounds to dense drums and features eerie synth riffs, while on "Torment", Cravo turns up the intensity levels; fuelled by a driving, dystopian groove, the addition of incessant stabs add to the sense of menace. "Domain" is more stripped back and sees this emerging producer drop an insistent tribal track. Meanwhile , Cravo changes tact on "Conscious"; it'a a deeper but dance floor-friendly track led by the kind of moody chord sequence one might expect to hear on the work of more esoteric techno artists like Portable.

Review: Sam Coates aka Setaoc Mass drops the seventh release on his SK_eleven label. "Evidence" is a high-paced, pumping affair that resounds to outer space tonal shifts and eerie strings. On "Leave No Trace", the fast-rising producer does away with musical elements to deliver a sledgehammer blow track, the heavy kicks underpinning a cold bass and ferocious percussive licks. "Psychofiller" sees Coates return to a more tripped out sound, as huge filters sweep in and build their way over the UK producer's resonant kick drums. Closing out this no-nonsense release is "Never Escape", where the label boss delivers a wiry, rolling groove.

Review: Over the past few years, Setaoc Mass has emerged as one of the UK's finest new techno producers, with releases on Figure and Work Them Records. On this latest release on his own label, he offers up a variety of takes on his percussive sound. "Light Falls" sees him marry rolling percussion with dense beats and spacey filters, while on "True Lies" a grittier, more banging approach prevails, thanks to its percussive volleys and relentless tonal bleeps. ""Eurythmic" is more stripped back and understated, but still his trademark niggling percussion laps beneath the surface, while on "Jenagan Sivakuma", he drops a frenetic, acid-soaked amalgamation of electro and techno.

Review: Despite having put out records for Work Them and Figure, Sam Coates aka Setaoc Mass realised early on the value of having his own, independent platform to release music on. He set up SK eleven with the sole purpose of releasing his own material, and the standard has been very high so far. This EP is no exception; at the peak time end of his sound there's the relentless, acid-led pulses of "Floating" and the tough, percussive rhythm of "Passive". However, one of the advantages of having his own label means that Coates can experiment and follow different paths - on this release he uses this freedom to deliver the ominous electro of "Disrepair" and the atmospheric techno workout, "Seethrough".
