I Can Show You (MM Bassline dub) - (6:41) 125 BPM
Review: London DJ/producer and mastering engineer Mike Millrain was heavily involved in the UK garage scene back in the late 90's as one of the main artists in Nice 'N' Ripe/FX Promotions. He was also a member of Mike Skinner's project The Streets until it's dissolution in 2011. Having set up his own label Soul Revolution Records in 2014, Mike continues to produce and release underground house & garage. He is back on his respected imprint with the soulful late night vocal house gem "I Can Show You". This is followed up by a terrific remix by Soul Divide which gets tough rolling and funky, and another one by Millrain himself in the form of a handy MM Bassline Dub.

Review: Even with the summer season drawing to a waterlogged close, the garage fever that swept the country throughout the heatwaves lives on here with Mike Millrain's latest single 'Lovin' Me'. The garage house mix that we kick off with is perfect for the party atmosphere, with two highly expressive remixes from Tuff Vibes to follow eloquently. We then finish up with the shining original recording, designed to get any dance floor jumping.

U N Me
U N Me (original mix) - (6:00) 130 BPM Hot
U N Me (Mike Millrain & Mick James remix) - (7:34) 124 BPM
Review: Back in June (2016), we were raving about Mind Of A Dragon's sensibility to the early 2000's garage era and, while that might have seemed as if we were exaggerating, it is clear that the mysterious producer truly understands that formula. He's back on Soul Revolution with "U N Me", a tune that could easily sound as if it was made by someone like Persian back in the day, but that in reality has been conceived late in 2016. With a rebellious streak, Mind Of A Dragon takes no consideration for contemporary trends, and instead delivers a highly riveting garage infusion for the heads. The remix by Mike Millrain and Mick James scraps the garage drums and chucks in a few house swings, but it still sounds deliciously vintage

Like They Know/Break
Like They Know - (6:12) 125 BPM
Break - (5:30) 125 BPM Hot
Review: Bass mad Leicester DJ, Deelay, has been rinsing it since the age of 16, inspired by the early pirate radio days and heroes such as EZ and Todd Edwards. Here he rocks up with two new cuts that will make everybody sit up and take notice, and dance even. Maybe. "Like They Know" is a clever slice of rolling bassline house that's steeped in vintage garage sounds and dreamy organ chord progressions. On the digital flipside "Break" is a speedier affair -all hypey swishes, relentless stabby riffs and urgent skippy beats.

Too Much
Too Much - (6:55) 130 BPM Hot
Too Much (Mike Millrain remix) - (7:21) 124 BPM
Review: Ever since their last release, we've been preoccupied with what really does do go on deep within the mind of a dragon. It turns out that beneath all the scales and firey breath they tend to think a lot about holidaying in Ayia Napa circa 2001. Wonder if Saint George knew this. Anyway, "Too Much" is a delicious mix of catchy distant vocals snippets and perky 130bpm beats and warm, undulating bass waves. Remix-wise Mike Millrain brings the '90s house fire - all slammin' New York garage vibes and closer than close synthy goodness. Summer is officially here!

Hard To Let You Go
Hard To Let You Go - (5:53) 122 BPM Hot
When I Need You - (6:04) 123 BPM
Review: Since debuting on their eponymous label last summer, Club of Jacks has delivered a range of tunes indebted to classic American house, and both U.S and UK variants of garage. Here they join Mike Millrain's Soul Revolution, dropping two cuts of revivalist goodness. "Hard To Let You Know" is a sweet and woozy, soul-flecked groover, with vintage vocal samples and fluid riffs riding a late '90s US garage-meets-speed garage groove. "When I Need You" moves further towards classic UK garage, with the duo underpinning jazzy organ keys and vocal samples with a throbbing bassline and skipping, New Jersey beats.

Tell Me (Mick James & Mike Millrain remix) - (5:52) 133 BPM
Tell Me (86deep Hard vocal dub) - (5:29) 125 BPM
Tell Me (Mick James & Mike Millrain dub) - (4:54) 133 BPM Hot
Review: Veteran 2-step DJ Mike Millrain had no idea just how much the '90s style 'deep n' bumpin' house and garage' that he championed would come back into style. Well it has and, with his Soul Revolution label, he's at the forefront of the scene. Of which is "Tell Me" by Granted, which gets the remix treatment here by Millrain and Mick James. Their mix is a pretty jaw dropping fusion of sharp 2 step beats, ominous bass and utterly huge melodic synth breaks. Also included is the tough and bouncy 86deep Hard vocal remix. A future (garage) classic.

Lovin' Me/Signs
Lovin' Me - (6:14) 132 BPM Hot
Signs - (5:53) 123 BPM
Review: A veteran producer formerly of Defected Records, Londoner Mike Millrain has been riding the '90s retro zeitgeist back to success. Its due to more than just fashion of course, his productions are an electric fusion vintage 2 garage vibes and 21st century sensibilities. "Lovin Me" combines classic 2-step beats with urban menace to great effect. Meanwhile "Signs" opts for deep, high-rise pads, organ stabs and plenty of bassy bounce. Party central in other words.

Work Me EP
Work Me - (7:52) 123 BPM Hot
Take Me Up - (5:35) 123 BPM
Bound Someone (VIP) - (6:20) 123 BPM
Review: Classic UK garage sounds on offer here by London's Mike Millrain, who is ex Soul Rebels on Defected. There's a sick bassline and just the right amount of swing on "Work Me" while it's the classic throwback sounds of early nineties NYC on the Kerri Chandler indebted "Take Me Up". Finally "Bound Someone (VIP)" nails that modern take on the MK sound much like Hot Natured can. Highly recommended for fans of Hot Creations or Golf Clap.

Review: Soul Revolution was opened by veteran 2-step DJ Mike Millrain to provide a home for the deeper styles of garage and bass emanating from studios around the UK. He's found a gem in the shady GWM, who here delivers three searing cuts on the Juicy Pump EP. With its big diva vocal line and urgent breaky rhythms, "Keep The Music" is an anthem in the making, "I Was There" features tough, scattershot beats as heard through a melancholic smoky fug and "About Worries" wraps things up nicely with tribal beats, melodic bass and gentle, spacey pads.

1 AM - (5:46) 124 BPM Hot
Freax At Night - (5:48) 124 BPM
Review: Veteran 2-step DJ Mike Millrain started Soul Revolution some years ago in order to give voice to all the new 'deep n' bumpin' house and garage' that he was hearing out and about. His latest discovery is the shady Djago who presents two slices of late night party ammo. "1am" is a lean slice of garagey house, it's organ riffs and chopped vocals perfectly capturing that post midnight gear change on the dancefloor. "Freax On The Dancefloor" meanwhile, is hard and slammin' speed garage with flecks of retro house for good measure.

Used - (3:28) 130 BPM
Review: German up-and-comer Da Freyzaz galvanises the Soul in Soul Revolution with five slice of two-step sunshine: "Fall In Love" is a short, sweet vocal velvet number that could easily find itself on a radio playlist. "Everything U Told Me" taps into the 90s house sound with over-layered M1 synth tones, "Like A Chic" goes wild on the vocal processing over a hip-flaring 4/4 groove while the title track reaches for the lasers with lavish synth blasts over a razor sharp step rhythm. Finally we hit "Used". The darkest track of the set, this one is all about the bassline... And likely to be used and abused across the board. Bubbly.

Inside Girl EP
Inside Girl (original mix) - (6:44) 123 BPM
Inside Girl (Mike Millrain remix) - (6:59) 123 BPM Hot
Whopper (Wicked mix) - (5:56) 125 BPM
Review: Soul Revolution were rather impressed by Mark Berger's debut single, Give Me, so they quickly signed-up this EP. The Swiss producer's fast-developing trademark sound pays tribute to bass-heavy UK house, classic UK garage, Sound Factory-era New York house, and the tactile appeal of vintage basement jams. All of these influences can be heard on "Inside Girl", which benefits greatly from a killer bassline, relentless cymbals and some excellent vocal samples. Mike Millrain's remix is a breezier affair, more obviously influenced by classic UK and US garage. As for "Whopper (Wicked Mix)", it's a deliciously dark and booming "big room" jam built around a thunderous wobble bassline and big room stabs.

Review: Soul Rebels is the alias Soul Revolution Records boss, Mike Millrain. Here his recent sleek future-garage jam, Being With You, gets the remix treatment. First up is Millrain himself, who takes the track into lush and deep soulful UKF. Next Martin Depp keeps it deep too, adding vintage New York garage vibes for good measure before Large Joints go all out spacey 2-step for an EP highlight.

So In Love (D-Base remix) - (5:46) 129 BPM Hot
Played by: Mike Millrain, G.W.M
Review: New mystery artist U@T steps up on Soul Revolution, Mike Millrain's garage Mecca, for two choice club cuts, primed and plucked for the floor. The original is a 90s-leaning track that sits somewhere between deep house and garage, while label casual D-Base drops a whole load of UK funky sweetness on his remix of the tune - the sort of bomb you'd imagine being played loud on an Ibiza beach party. Soul Revolution coming up with the goods as per usual!

When U Luv Me (original mix) - (6:45) 121 BPM
When U Luv Me (2-Step mix) - (6:05) 128 BPM Hot
Review: Newcomer D Base lands on Soul Revolution for another chapter of fine bass-driven dance music and speaker-rocking delight. He's only featured on a compilation before this, so we're happy to hear what he has to say with this new EP. As expected, it's nothing but pure pleasure from the first kick-drum, a beat which quickly weaves into a shuffly garage anthem. The two-step version is more broken but nonetheless garage-centred. Check it out, it's a bomb!

I Told You (Urban Myths remix) - (5:06) 133 BPM Hot
Review: Mike Millrain knows how to make garage music, and here he delivers a cut focusing on all the hallmarks of the genre with a specific focus on bit-crushed vocals, which become rhythmically complete once the Carl Cox-esque groove section drops. Meanwhile Urban Myths craft Millrain's original into something much techier, providing a deep listen and suitable alternative. Two weapons for the weekend.
