Review: Serge Gamesbourg has held his native Boston captive with his retro beats for over twenty years, initially playing hip-hop before moving into funk and soul territory. Here we get three cuts that perfectly reflect the sound of his popular Dis-Connection party from the slick discofied funky jam of "A Little Bit Of Your Love" to the brooding boogie of "4AM" and finally the jazzy houser "Get Down With Me".
Review: Chicago's Bruce Ivery is known for his techy, linear jams on labels like Stilove4music, but he goes a little more conventionally clubby on two new tracks for Street Edits. The feverish "Harlem" is deep and moody house, while "Clap Your Hands" is unashamedly cheerful rolling disco-house. However the highlight here is "Mr Pagani (Impact Mix)" - where an Italo-disco-ish synth riff is looped into a hypnotic acid house mesmeriser.
