Review: We were thrilled to dive into this latest offering from the Styx Recordings camp as they employ the heavyweight dubstep sounds of Reigamortis for two tracks of pure fire. We kick off this spicy two tracker with the uber gnarly 'Wipikana', a monstrous creation dripping in evil bass LFOs and spicy percussive additions, allowing it to roll freely in the dance. On the flipside we encounter the urgent, eastern-sounding string patterns of 'Dehyre', which makes for quite the contrast. The track then descends into some super swampy sounds, bringing together sizzling synthesizers and crunchy drum textures for a very tasty affair.
Review: When we saw that the dubwise sounds of Wevaman and Unknown Order were teaming up on the Styx Recordings imprint, we were overrun with excitement, eager to get stuck into what the team up had conjured. It's safe to say they did not disappoint as we get into a vibrant A-side in 'Dreadlock' which channels dubby subs and classic reggae samples, resulting in a warm piece of dub music. On the flip side we have the more evil arrangement of 'Smoking Dub', a track with a dub structure. focussed potent melodics, widened horns and spacious FX. This is a great two tracker to say the least!
