Review: Snarerollswtf is a fitting title for what is one of this year's most unconventional techno releases. On the title track, veteran Swedish producer Hertz drops a series of snare patterns. Each one more incendiary than the last, they are designed to be used in the mix - and are sure to cause the kind of reaction that the release's name suggests. On the alternate version, "Snarerollswtf Featuring Kick Drum", Hertz shows exactly how dynamic his percussive creations can sound. Pounding kicks of varying intensity levels underpin waves of rolling percussion - making snare-led techno classics like Plastikman's "Spastik" sound civilised by comparison.
