Review: A three-way team-up here, so it's appropriate that the fruits of the trio's labours are served up in a choice of three mixes. In its Original form, 'Lose You' comes from the more EDM-leaning end of the house spectrum with its electrohouse bassline and pop-style vocal, but it's not without its charms and should certainly do the do at festivals and on those bigger floors. Mickey Kojak's refix heads just a little deeper and takes us into summery 'beach house' territory, but the standout here is the KLP Remix, a much more stripped n' strutty pass with a b-line that'll have 'em shaking those booties for sure.
Review: Sweat It Out! bring us the deluxe edition of Purple Disco Machine's 2021 long-player 'Exotica', which now packs three bonus cuts. Starting with the latter, 'Twisted Mind' is a lively, uptempo slice of disco-pop, 'Rise' (featuring Tasita D'Mour) rocks a more club-friendly soulful/disco house vibe, while Sophie & The Giants collab finds us back in daytime Kiss FM territory. As for the album proper, it's fair to say that 'Exotica' finds the German stalwart making his bid for mainstream stardom - much of what's here is much closer to contemporary pop than it is to 70s disco or 90s disco-house. But then you knew that already.
