Take It Easy is one of the most lung-running and well-known parties of the italian scene. After developing the brand in the world of clubbing and hosting international artists such as Hunee, The Black Madonna, Kerri Chandler, Kink, Derrick May, Louie Vega and many others, Take It Easy launches its own label that will be managed by the resident djs of the party: Dirty Channels, Bugsy and DJLMP
Review: The Take It Easy label returns with a red hot one that features a Bugsy 'ReDrum' of Wema's 'Kiherehere' cut. The original artists are a five-piece Tanzanian outfit founded on community and they have a global approach to sound that plays out here. In Bugsy's hands, it becomes a club-ready cut that fuses house and techno with the original's traditional Tanzanian instrumentals and Afro-Latin rhythms. Add in a fiery vocal and the sort of unrelenting drum funk that sends crowds mad and you have another standout from this fledgling label.
Review: Last year, former Ovum and Crosstown Rebels sorts Dirty Channels showcased their disco chops by delivering a fine chunk of revivalist goodness on Athens of the North (Danny Russell collaboration "Watchin' Out"). Here they join the dots between their past and present via a decidedly party-hearty EP that combines chopped and looped classic disco samples with bombastic, driving and peak-time friendly house beats. First up is "Born In Doulala", a bouncy exercise in seriously tooling up what sounds like a Turkish disco-dunk jam, quickly followed by the Soundstream-esque hard-edited disco loops and slamming beats of "Those Days". Rounding things off is "The Lord", a deliciously bass-heavy, filter-fired bumper built around swirling orchestral samples from a well-loved disco classic.
Review: Following up a killer inaugural release by local duo Dirty Channels, the sophomore edition of the label Take It Easy (connected to the well-known party in Milan) is back with co-owner DJLMP. For his debut EP, he shows his eclectic vision of club music. From the uplifting and euphoric disco loops of the vibrant opener "Blow Your Mind", to the funky and super lo-slung groove action of "Kachi Kachi" by the brilliant In Flagranti - which he edits to perfection. Elsewhere, we have the bleepy Italo action of "Tiger Cat" with its "Funky Town" kinda vibe and the moody late night latin house of "Angry" - which is anything but to be honest!
Review: Take It Easy is back with the first solo appearance by Bugsy, party co-owner and DJ. "Love For You" opens the EP with some acid vocal vibes while Chicago's master Jamie 3:26 gives his groovy and disco-sample reinterpretation to the track. "Sick "And Tired" gives some dreamy, filter-sweeping reverie to the EP and things close out with the reappearance of. Dirty Channels on the label with their groovy and powerful house remix.
Review: Milan based Take It Easy label and party is back. This third drop comes from label owners Dirty Channels, Bugsy and DJLMP with the addition of the historical Italian dj and Paradise Pizza's label owner Memoryman aka Uovo. After their big success "Watchin Out" and "Catch Me", Dirty Channels open the EP with an Afro-influenced sample stomper followed up by an afrobeat vocal tool by DJLMP. "I Wonder" brings some crackly Detroit atmosphere by Memoryman aka Uovo. "Pomiri Dan" completes the set, percussive sample stomper by Bugsy on his first appearance on the label.
