Review: Stinky in pink to make the ravers wink: Jam Thieves gets his stick paws all over the Technique discogs with this heaving four-piece of tear-ups and bubblers. 'Pink Girl' takes the lead will full impact as a scorching bass texture shreds through the mix with twisted gusto. Elsewhere 'Disco 45' goes full 4x4 dancefloor with nary a glitterball in sight, 'Harbourside' is grotty enough to awake the kraken while 'Stokes Croft' pays homage to Brizzle's party district. Review: Having previously collaborated on Eastern Promise a few years ago on Ram Records, North Base and Kitcha once again reunite this time on Drumsound & Bassline Smith's Technique Recordings. Paying homage to the popular family car of the 90s 'Cavalier' has plenty of mileage and room for manoeuvre. Elsewhere 'Roar' brings the va-va-room with real life growls and plenty of bassline grit before 'Bruck Out' chucks a little jungle charm in the gas tank for good measure. Last but not least North Base go it alone on the firing finale cut of the EP 'Sekkle'. Buckle up!

Review: Trooper manoeuvres: legendary pioneering trio Drumsound and Bassline Smith get busy with this firing fourpiece of peak-time blaze-ups. Fusing elements of their jungle foundations with their heavyweight dancefloor signature, each cut hits hard across the eras and flavours; 'Music Soldier' brings the euphoria of 92 to 2022 by way of steam train beats and a cool dubwise vocal. Elsewhere 'Galaxy Dub' is more of a headsy shifter that sits somewhere between the grunt of Benny L and the cosmic attitude of J Majik while 'Bloodclaart VIP' will have you wheeling up for days. Finally we hit 'Midnight Pressure', a grizzled out lesson in hard-line floatation. Onward we march.

Review: Technique Recordings, founded by Drumsound & Bassline Smith back in 1999, is turning 20 this year and they're releasing a huge remix compilation to celebrate. Featuring remixes from artists old and new of Technique's best tracks, mostly originals from the founders themselves, this album stretches across 27 heavy, dancefloor numbers. The first outing, a remix of 'Come With Me' by Bladerunner, is classic KoTR vibes and we love the array of twisting, snarling basses that fans of this producer will recognise. Shouts also to Digital for his swirling remix of 'I Need Somebody', featuring some classic amens, and also Smooth for his popping remix of Tantrum Desire's 'Vybez'. Top stuff from a stalwart of the scene.

Review: Last spotted on Technique on their 2018 collection, and most recently spotted shelling the hell out of us on Serial Killaz, Exile returns to Drumsound & Bassline Smith's label with his biggest release to date. The opening track says it all; "Let's Go Mental" is a call to arms with a sweeping chainsaw bassline and industrial strength beats. It sets the scene for the carnage that follows as "Play Bass" strips things back into a swampy subby stew, "Woo Sound" flexes with a strange ghostly funk and classic rave vocal samples while "Nothing's Changed" closes the show with an absolutely stinking bassline and powerful vocals from Kat Howell. Mental status confirmed.

Review: Tantrum Desire has been at the forefront of synth-heavy dancefloor music from some years now and Technique has been his vehicle for moving up that ladder, the patronage of Drumsound and Bassline Smith clearly serving him well. This single is, then, unsurprisingly good and it starts with 'Unleashed', a raucous track which takes 0 prisoners and relishes it, its growling bass are anything but kind yet definitely dancefloor worthy. 'Twerk It' is equally poisonous and probably too fast to actually twerk to, unless you want a back injury, but that doesn't matter and the tune is so heavy you'll forget all about it. Enjoy.

Review: Oof! Just when you thought their album Wardance slapped us back to the golden age hard enough, along comes this disgusting five four track trench stomper. "Jungle All The Way" lives up to its name with sweeping, sneering electrified bass licks, "Killimanjaro" is a titanic stampede with fat percussion tones and reams of pranged out hoover stabs, "Lose My Head" joins the team at Benny L's foghorn factory and heads up the armageddon division while "Dubplate" wraps up affairs with a love letter to the foundations, all tingly Headz-style synths and a drop that's so sick you'll need a repeat prescription. Stinking.
