Review: The Bunker delves deep into psychedelic realms for its twenty-sixth record. The work of Jeremy Berman, a self-confessed vinyl and gear nerd who hooked up, unsurprisingly, with the Bunker crew via I-f's now defunct Cybernetic Broadcasting Systems, Nomadic paints a vivid sonic picture. It starts with the layered, complex rhythms and tones of "Sub-Saharan Jitter", an abstract yet strangely funky jam that is reminiscent of Morphosis at his most accessible. It's followed by "Taiga", where Berman descends into tripped out, bleep techno, a bit like Sandwell District, but with a more raw, analogue aesthetic. Closing the release are the hypnotic drones of "1,000 Vines".
