Review: The Sauce & Fox: One of the most flavoursome trios in D&B right now link up with one of the most respected and versatile MCs in the game for 'Everything Boss'. With its jiggy bassline, Fox's smoky vocals, aggy hoover tones and killer drums, it's already developed big bubbler status with those lucky enough to have a copy over the last few months. Loaded with full vocal and dub version that doesn't include the full bars and ready for a hopeful summer of the rave's return, 'Everything Boss' is a candidate for one of the tunes of the year so far. Woi.
Review: Get greased up and sticky! The Sauce are back once again and this time they're questioning whether there are other signs of life out there. Listen closely as they try to communicate with other lifeforms by way of junglistic traditions. 'Dr Drunkenstein' sends out dubby reverberations, 'Paranoia' lets' the drums do all the talking while 'Shadow Vibe' just thrusts its shoulders out rambunctiously and blasts its trumpet loudly in the face of all aliens. Finally 'Utmost Finesse' closes with some sweet soulful rocket fuel. The truth is out there... And it's rather saucy!
Review: Do you like drum & bass? That's one question. Do you like Kusp? That's one question too. Do you like your jams all steppy and springy with fluttering harmonic subs and bags of space? Well that's 'One Question', a beautifully animated yet deadly piece of soundystem weaponry. Like it darker? Then head for the moodier, curmudgeonly rattles and slaps of 'Eldorado'. That's one answer. Saucy.
Review: Don't play catch-up, play ketchup: the Saucy lads are at it again with these two flavoursome bubblers. 'Round The Corner' gives us directions to the dance and a big old plus one in the funk department. Complete with a twisting/turning harmonic bassline, this one's a real grizzler. 'On A Mission' takes things down more a Creative Source style route with its dusty jazzy sample and hazy groove that one could get lost in for hours on end. Sauces for courses.
Review: Once again, the crew behind The Sauce Recordings have decided to deliver us a box of festival ready selections, welcoming five D&B heavyweights inside for a sumptuous display of original high tempo energy. We open up with the chilling horn sweeps and big room bass drops of Zero-T's 'On The M.I.C', a fragrant explosion of junglist juice, followed by both the unusual rhythmic switch ups of 'Sweet Chilli'. From Genic & Tracker, and the system-rumbling sub designs of 'Burnt Toast' from Objectiv. The high octane adventure then comes to a close with a look at 'Your Style', a bulbous roller, taking minimal percussion and lethal bass booms to round off the project in style.
Review: Slopping out a big old bucket of hot juicy manna on every single one of our senses and sensitive areas, DLR, Hyrdo and Spinback's project The Sauce gets spicier and tastier by the dispatch. Here we find them in murderous mode as the inimitable Rider Shafique joins the fray on the dark and deadly 'Mercenary'. 'Killer' follows suit with similar textures, tones and samples but sans Shafique. Both versions crucial and designed solely to make dancefloor widows and widowers. RIP. 187 thumbs up.
