Review: This release is the meeting of minds between an English producer called Spective and a drum and bass head from Portland, Oregon named Revival. The fusion of these two chaps's influences is something pretty special and from jazz to hip hop there's something new at play no matter which way you turn. Rammed with rollers and punchy percussion, it's a taste of liquid heaven from a very different place. Whether you love jazzy rollers or prefer more of a club-driven sound, there's something for you here. Take your pick and start vibing.
Review: From the trendy heartland that is Portland comes Glen E Ston, a producer who's not afraid to experiment with the boundaries of liquid D&B. From the synth-led energy of "Warmth" to the deeper, beautifully mellow tones of "Secrets In The Sky". This seven tracker twists and turns through the full spectrum of drum and bass, taking influences from the soulful and well and the dancefloor-driven tunes of the old school. Get acquainted with this guy, because he's not going anywhere.
Review: The second part of the Creative Consensus series is a beautiful mixture of lush and vibrant rollers, taking inspiration from the old school as well as testing the waters in new directions. Featuring the likes of Paul SG, Clart and Inside Man this is a release that focuses mainly on upcoming talent - and there's a lot of it around. Whether you like your deep sounds sweet or dark, smooth or experimental, you can be sure there's something on here for you. Last word: Try out Zion Base, Bevan & Andy Sim - Sidewalk for some Djrum-level sample riffing.
