Splinter EP
Splinter - (3:39) 175 BPM Hot
Steely & JTR - "Wave Thoughts" - (3:39) 175 BPM
Satin - (3:39) 175 BPM
Whut - (3:40) 174 BPM
Review: Suns out, Rats out: Continuing his firing slew of releases, new talent Steely dons his stainless suit once more, this time Tin Pan Sound with a dedication to everyone's favourite Sensei 'Splinter'. A hearty blast of jump-up / tech fusion that twists with rusty jerks and splutters with molten iron bass grot, highlights include the twisted brain-warps of 'Wave Thoughts' and the squelchy swagger jam 'Whut' but the whole is EP is loaded with weird and wonderful ideas. Sewer funk.

Mistakes (Baker Remix)
Mistakes (Baker remix) - (4:23) 175 BPM
Review: Exactly a month after he's released an EP with a track called 'Lesson Learnt', Neman's 2021 track 'Mistakes' ironically returns, this time with a remix from Baker on this special one track missive from Tin Pan Sound. Retaining the jump-up wobbles and minor key harmonics of the original while twisting the bassline into something a little springier and more mischievous than the swaggering original, Baker has successfully added to the track's charm right here... There's no mistakes about it (not sorry)

Headshot
Headshot - (4:23) 175 BPM Hot
Perception - (4:26) 175 BPM
Get Down - (3:40) 175 BPM
Comeback - (3:40) 175 BPM
Review: Having established himself with a heavyweight collab EP last year featuring the likes of Blckhry, Amplify and Stillz, Steryx has continued to level up with every release so far. 'Headshot' could well be his biggest, though. Four cuts, each one hitting harder than hammers with crisp, heavy mixdowns, the vibe is relentless and widescreen; the title track is the peaktime smash-em-up drama and it's backed by tense nuggets. 'Perception' is all about that taut aggy bass stab, 'Get Down' swaggers with a little early 2000s style flavour all bleepy and switchy while 'Comeback' seals with the deal with its mischievous Q&A and bright breaksy fills. For the heads(hot).

War
War - (4:24) 175 BPM Hot
Dunno What - (3:40) 175 BPM
My Turn - (4:24) 175 BPM
Mash Up - (4:24) 174 BPM
Review: 'War', what is it good for? Absolutely everything if Alphaze is in the trenches with you! A fast-rising south UK talent with previous on the likes of Shadow Demon, Subway Soundz and Eternal, here he makes his debut on lively new platform Tin Pan Sound with four battle-ready bangers primed for scudding the dancefloor. From the opening rushes and dramatic tension of 'War' right through the sweet skanks and sizzles of the finale track 'Mash Up', Alphaze runs riots with his crisp mixdowns and vicious dynamics. Elsewhere 'Dunno What' leaves us speechless with its barking bassline while 'My Turn' hits hard with a classic mid 2000s Playaz vibe. Lemme see your 'War' face!

Kill Em EP
Kill Em - (5:07) 175 BPM
Your Heart - (5:07) 175 BPM Hot
Justice - (4:31) 175 BPM
JumpFactor 99 - (4:26) 175 BPM
Review: Sweet murderation across the nation! Belgian badman Subtrance steps up with his first paid release on Tin Pan Sound. Four tracks of pure high-frequency jump-up grot and scattiness, it's a bold statement of intent as he slaps, tickles and trolls us senseless. 'Kill Em' is all about the big synths that set the scene before a complete subversion into bassline terror, 'Your Heart' flips from sweet soul to savage scat at the flick of a switch while 'Justice' quits the formalities and just simply tells us all to shut up. Finally 'JumpFactor 99' closes the EP with more juicy synths, rattling snares and a drop fresh from Hades precinct. Killing's never been so much fun.

How It Feel - (4:20) 178 BPM Hot
Review: Percz is Tom Pearce, a DJ/producer based in Worcestershire (Gloucestershire) who some of you may know from his contributions to Greaze Supply. His latest release comes courtesy of south coast label Tin Pan Sound titled Apollo. The title track is a bouncy stepper in the proper UK jump up tradition, followed by the fierce techstep of "How It Feel" and the heads down roller "Tidal" closing it out. Promising stuff from this newcomer. Following up some great ones by Kormz, Psych & The Force, Tin Pan Sound remains consistent in its output.

Let's Rock
Lets Rock - (4:00) 176 BPM Hot
Mistakes - (4:00) 178 BPM
Something - (4:01) 175 BPM
The Ride - (3:39) 175 BPM
Review: Tin Pan Sound are creating a name for themselves as a label who always bring out the big guns with their music. It's always heavy, hard-hitting and built on soundscapes and vibes which are deeply urban. The first track on this EP is no different and it kicks off with 'Let's Rock', a punchy roller with a bassline that stretches out over the horizon, the only constant being its grinding, coarse nature and the manner in which it constantly mutates and evolves. 'Something' is equally as rough but less rolling and more stepping, its structure and nature constantly changes, and it keeps the tune sounding consistently fresh. The rest of the EP is absolute vibes too.

Spirit
Spirit - (4:24) 175 BPM
Secrets - (4:25) 175 BPM Hot
Mad Man - (4:24) 175 BPM
Tardis - (4:28) 175 BPM
Review: A special dedication to the often maligned and misunderstood ghost and ghoul junglist communities, Psych and The Force pick up where they collaboratively left us on Ruffneck Ting a few months back. Four spooky sessions in total, each sings with the ghosts of drum & bass's strongest characteristics. 'Spirit' is straight up addictive Q&A jump-up fun, 'Secrets' blasts with some of the warmest organs we've heard since the early 2000s while "Mad Man" thumps with donkey punch kick drums and a croaky bassline that instantly recalls the jump up flavours of the late 2000s. Last but not least, 'Tardis' defies time and space with its higher-range harmonics and gully twists on each fill. Each one filthier than a travelling carnival's haunted house ride, these are bound to cause some serious bumps in the night.

Big Money
Big Money - (4:23) 175 BPM Hot
Revenge - (4:23) 175 BPM
Night & Day - (5:07) 175 BPM
Technique - (4:23) 175 BPM
Review: The name of this release - Big Money - is reflected in the colourful and playful artwork. It's the first ever EP from a brand new label, Tin Pan Sound, and we're hoping that this is the beginning of a flourishing new imprint. You can tell from the off both that this might be the case, and that this is a release which doesn't take itself too seriously; part of that nonchalant approach to music that stresses having a good time over chin-stroking analysis and perfect mixdowns. The title track is a rattling jump up stepper with a powerful undergirding of low-frequency pulses and tones, there's a slick little vocal over the top and it all comes together very nicely. The others are equally tough and straight shooting - big ups.
