Rollin' With Telephunken - (3:44) Biggest-selling track on this release

24 Hours Of Madness - (3:00) 139 BPM
Review: Madrid outfit Telephunken come through correct once again on Tremendo Big Records - a rightful home to their jaw-shattering take on breakbeat. "California Love" completely tares up Dre's and Snoop Dogg's timeless lyrics and meshes them ever so gracefully with a sweet pair of soul vocals, but "Rollin' With Telephunken" really gets things moving and squeals out one of the gnarliest basslines you'll hear in a while - not to mention its sweet chorus. "24 Hours Of Madness" is the funkiest of the lot, discombobulating the chugging beat to the point of near hysteria and it serves as further proof of Telephunken's increasingly alluring beat-thrash style.

El Bomba - "Reloaded" - (3:41) 122 BPM Biggest-selling track on this release
Review: Swiss booty dealers Tremendo launch a new series and the title says it all. The label's established funk sound is still in abundance, but it rolls with a heavier bass twist. In some places the low end urgency is more obvious than others - DJ Soo and Tim Livingstone's earworm bassline rips through "Boom!" with true musical mischief while Father Funk's "Feel The Beat Y'All" is less dirty and more cheeky with its classic swing motifs and occasional wobbles. Elsewhere we hear Jayl Funk pay homage to classic 60s funk, Trotters and Telephunken munching on raw squidgy bass and El Bomba getting all slinky and sexy. Get dirty.

Review: From funky breaks label Tremendo, this second compilation assembles a crack squad of producers to get loose over these hot new tracks. Alongside new jams from the likes of Telephunken, Rory Hoy and Morlack, Bobby C Sound TV channels the best of Washington's go-go scene on "Ghostin' The Machine", Badboe mixes old school hip-hop with new school funk on "Unhooked Jam" and Breakbeat Junkie goes off on an '80s soul tip on the brass riding "A Journey Into Funk".

Review: Telephunken's Tremendo imprint continues to settle itself into the party, making itself more than at home. A cool septuplet of cuts, the swaggering block busting vibes are introduced by Telephunken themselves with a very naughty Rage Against The Machine sampling mosh-masher before we cruise into myriad styles from west coast Cali soul (Father Funk's "Real Funky") to chop-blistering big beat (The Bang! Bang! Show's tongue-in-cheek "Do Your Whoomp") to slow n' steady bass squelchism (Stereo Beatz "Feel The Panic"). Tremendo? Tremendous more like.
