Review: Fresh from his explorations this spring on Triplicate, Mannheim's Science Of Man returns to the ever-dependable UK imprint with two more blissful constructs. "Rosana" is built around a dreamy reverse synth and string sample and a surging, urgent male vocal while "Chains" flips for more of a mournful vibe with loose plucks on the sample and an overall feeling of introspective jazz feels. Think mid 2000s Spearhead releases or maybe early Lenzman and you're in the right soul park.
Review: Last spotted on their "Triplicate Audio Remixes" collection late last year, 4D returns to the UK label with two stinking workouts. "Phantom Planet" opens with a deep space intro that wouldn't have gone amiss in the 1998 before dropping into a savage Blocks & Escher style drum mosaic. "Please" licks with a little jumpy mischief. Bumping and thumping with a groaning-but-infectious bass riff, chaos isn't so much as promised but a guaranteed dead cert.
