Review: Benji Vaughan, known for his work with Prometheus and Younger Brother, returns with Eidolon - a new solo album exploring a world of unpredictable sonic territories. Released 25 years since his debut on Twisted (with Clarity from Deep Fog), Eidolon maintains the vibe but goes somewhere else. A safely bizarre record, Benji Vaughan takes in krautrock as much as he does experimental electronic, ambient beat-making, wild synth arrangements, and don't forget the dub. With newer-school Thome Yorke suggestions to be found in tracks like "Scatter Brain" also, Eidolon is another sound example how far solo experimental music makers can take their trade.
