Review: Rewind! Micky Finn and Aphrodite's breakthrough collaboration as Urban Shakedown returns in all its remastered digital glory and still kicks like a mule 30 years since they were first created. Both iconic tracks from that exciting crossover from rave from jungle, 'Some Justice' and 'Burning Passion' were huge tracks at the time that raised the tempo, brought the darkness but maintained the euphoria of hardcore. Complete with both the dubplate versions from the time and the eventual single versions which dropped a year later, these are a reminder of how far we've come... But also how close we've stayed to our roots. Justice is served once again.
Review: It's time to dive into some legendary business as two absolute goliaths of the D&B & breaks scenes link up here to deliver a tasty piece of goodness indeed. We are taking incredibly oldschool as 'Bass Shake' links up hardcore-sounding organ notation with clunky yet pleasing drum break slices and catchy vocal sampling to deliver something truly enjoyable. The release also comes complete with a few additional versions, including the more energetic drum designs of the 'Release' mix and more experimental acidic synthesizer extensions of the 'Hard dub' mix. Exciting stuff indeed.
