Review: Now this is an interesting drop indeed as Vomitspit launch their release schedule with two very creative rollers from Dayzero, whose name we seem to be seeing a lot of recently. We begin this one with a look at the 'Saruin Stage' VIP mix, a quirky creation, driven by pluck-like synthesizer pulls and clicking percussive expansions, constantly expanding its harmonic range and rhythmic inputs. On the flip, 'Borders In Action' employs an unusual vocal sample over the top of gritty drum pushes and old school dubstep warbles to add a really nice sense of variation. Wicked work!
Review: It's time to venture deeper and darker into dubstep here as we see the combined sounds of Repulsion and Vomitspit team up for some hard hitting 140 beats. We begin with the sharp snare stabs and lively LFO movements of 'Spawn Point One', before 'Demon Slayer Doom Hammer' hits back with some scorching subs. After the brief dithers of the 'Hoes Involved' we move into the distorted expanse and shuffling beats of 'Who Are You Kid', followed by the twisted horrors of 'Excruciating Existence', a chop shop of extreme sound design. To finish up, Le Lion appears on remix duty, refurbishing 'Spawn Point One' into a techy steppers roller. Very interesting stuff indeed.
