Review: With their colourful synthesizers, sun-kissed vibes and studied retro-futurist feel, Voodoo Gold releases are always worth checking. This latest missive, which comes courtesy of publicity-shy newcomer Papeete Sun, is naturally up to the label's usual exacting standards. While the EP contains a number of drowsy ambient synth-scapes of intense beauty (see "Wake Dream", "Voices From The Past" and "Island Sunset"), the majority of tracks explore a tactile and loved-up brand of deep house that draws influence from both the saucer-eyed, near horizontal bliss of turn-of-the-'90s Italian dream house (see "Voices In Your Head" and "Pacific Soul", in particular) and the kind of tactile, machine-driven warmth that was once a hallmark of New Jersey deep house ("Life", "Scared For You"). It's a hugely alluring combination.

Review: Tabernacle Records regular Jeremiah R first donned the alternative Amazon Club alias back in 2016 for Guyana, a superb debut EP that joined the dots between gentle tropical disco, early Italian dream house, loved-up ambient and humid Balearic grooves. You'll find more of the same on the gorgeous Save Our Paradise, with highlights coming thick and fast. Check, for example, the breezy Balearic disco/house fusion of lilting opener "Save Our Paradise", the low-slung but deliciously attractive "Tropicana", the Amazonian ambient bliss of "Hidden Orchid Place", the self-explanatory loved-up goodness of "Tropi Disco" and the percussion-rich humidity of "Rituals". Superb stuff, all told.

Review: Although best known for producing alien electro for the likes of Tabernacle, Jeremiah R also makes evocative deep house under the lesser-known Marvis Dee alias. Here he pops up on Voodoo Gold with a mini album's worth of woozy goodness. There's much to enjoy throughout, from the Larry Heard-meets-Moon B warmth of opener "Neon Sky" and ultra-deep, ultra-dreamy "Moodnlight Dancing", to the glacial ambience of "At Dawn" (perfect for those rare outdoor sunrise sets) and dream house revivalism of "Thoughts", where picturesque melodies tumble down over swirling chords and a tantalizing bassline. He also goes hypnotic via the fluttering melody loops and cascading synthesizer lines of "Treasures of Mind".

Review: Dutch wunderkind Jeremiah R here, under yet another alias. 'Voodoo Gold' bridges the gap between classic house, disco and balearica on this collection of smooth and sexy jams. As many have pointed out this is unlike his usual electro style of production on this record. Originally released back in November 2016, we are glad to present its release on the digital format. Deep, lo-slung nu-disco on "Brazil" reminded us of Genius In Time's output a few years back, "Jungle Skies At Night" is an Amazonian ambient epic that would make even Mad Mike Banks stand up and notice. Elsewhere, the classic neon-lit '70s style sultriness of "Sunny Dance" sounds like a lost cassette from way back when and to close it out: he throws in all the cowbells, bird calls, sleazy guitar licks and funky bass that you need and all in one place on the irresistible "Forrest Jam". Top release!
