Review: Never an easy artist to pin down for long, Mark Pritchard is back on his regular stomping ground of Warp Records after recent success with the likes of his Africa HiTech project. Following on from the leftfield madness of his Ghosts single, all manner of bass-led tropes get fed into a masher and twisted up with a fearsome level of sound design and party starting nouse. "1234" features the vocal delights of The Ragga Twins over a garage shuffle both addictive and futuristic in its finish while inspiring all manner of hype in the process, whether you want the original or the instrumental version. "Ghetto Blast" meanwhile gets stuck into a mean trap roll with plenty of wild sample hooks, and then "Lock Off" darts off the map with a cheeky uptempo cut of minimal percussion, primal samples and scattered flecks of jungle. "Soundboy Fuck Off" is more explicit in its use of old-skool rave tricks, from the nightmare stabs to the wild snare rushes, triggered without a shred of mercy for maximum floor damage.

Review: Given that it's been eight years since the last Boards of Canada album, Tomorrow's Harvest should, by rights, push Daft Punk's Random Access Memories in the hype stakes. Certainly, it's a fine set. During their sabbatical, Marcus Eoin and Michael Sandison have lost none of their power to amaze and impress. Chords drone, samples hiss, synths shimmer and beats swing. There are intense ambient moments and intoxicating, post-IDM dreamscapes. It is in turns icy, warm, introspective and blindingly picturesque. Throughout, Tomorrow's Harvest is impeccably atmospheric, conjuring images of windswept Scottish moors, becalmed Cornish bays and maudlin pagan ceremonies. As comeback records go, it's pretty darn good.

Review: Following a thread started up with his Africa HiTech project with Steve Spacek, Mark Pritchard shifts shape once again but keeps that hyped-up flow going strong with this five-strong EP for Warp. There's plenty of juke flavour in the snapping beats of "Manabadman", bolstered by the patois delivery of Spikey Tee, while "Ghosts" channels a more trap-oriented beat through which to run rambunctious synths. "Duppies" makes for one of the centerpieces with its intense UK rave signifiers, from hoover bass to gruesome D&B stabs before deftly leaping into a jungle tear-out. "Get Wyld" mops up the mess with a sopping sponge of electro synth work hanging from a restrained drum track.

Review: Some two years after his last LP, Bibio is back with Warp unfurling more of his tape-warped wisdom for those more reflective moments in your life. It's a mellow affair at nearly every turn, from the distant shoegaze malaise of "Dye The Water Green" to the purposefully MOR folk of "Raincoat", but there's still some cheeky fun to be had in between the more introverted spells on Silver Wilkinson. For example "You" gets busy with radio-busting vocal and orchestral snippets with an end result that feels compatible with the more imaginative corners of mainstream hip hop and R&B production. Really though, listening to Bibio is all about getting wrapped up in the pastoral dreamworld he inhabits, where songs can be songs, singers can be singers and sound sources can come from anywhere.

Review: Coming back for that "difficult second album" hurdle, Darkstar clearly went away and drummed up a fresh approach after the attention the got from their debut album "North". Seemingly heading further into indie song-writing dynamics, the range of sounds in use is far more advanced, embracing more organic elements alongside the penchant for warm, fuzzy electronics. There are bold and brash pieces like "Armonica" and "Amplified Ease", but the tendency is towards a twisted kind of folk balladry drenched in head-spinning production. It's a decisive step on, and it's served Darkstar very well indeed.

Review: It's been three years since Jamie Lidell's last full-length, Compass, and in that time he seems to have rediscovered his early passion for distorted electrofunk. Like the track that launched his career, Super_Collider's 1997 machine-funk masterpiece "Darn Cold Way O'Lovin", Jamie Lidell delivers a hard-edged contemporary take on P-Funk that allows his soaring soul vocals to take centre stage. There are audible nods to masters of the genre - Roger Troutman on the talkbox-endowed "Do Yourself A Favour", Prince on "I'm Selfish", George Clinton on the filthy synth-funk of "Why_Ya_Why" - and production that harks back to the days before his pop breakthrough, Multiply. It's not exactly a return to form - he's not released a duff album yet - but it's certainly a riotously enjoyable set.

Review: Messrs Pritchard and Spacek have only just dropped a killer new album on us in the shape of 93 Million Miles and now they add more fuel to the fire of critical acclaim with this EP. Not only do they serve up a VIP version of one of the album's strongest moments in "Out In The Streets" but two further new arrangements as well. We have to start with the VIP though which marries the bouncing digital dancehall meets juke of the original with an all encompassing assault of explosive jungle rhythms. We checked the small print and it comes with a guarantee to cause screw face at festivals and warehouses across the globe this summer. Check the flip for the righteous future boogie of "Caveman Style", which is nestled alongside the skittering rhythms and creeping Nintendo head nod vibes of "Seek Em Step". This release also comes with digital bonus track "Looking For The One".

Review: Brian Eno offers up another ambitious and roaming long player for Warp, this time in conjunction with poet Rick Holland. The initial impact is something akin to hearing Sabres of Paradise for the first time, as a live band dynamic gets contorted to an electronic sensibility. The exploratory nature of the album certainly harks back to the imperfect adventures that Warp was celebrated for in the mid-nineties. The vocals will undoubtedly divide people, offering a kind of spiritual guidance in their lyrics and celebrating a very English intonation in their delivery, but there's no denying the skill and vision behind this release.

Review: Acclaimed Glaswegian beatsmith Hudsom Mohawke continues his relationship with electronic music heavyweights Warp with a distinctly positive sounding mini-album. For those who've followed the Numbers man's blossoming career, the musical contents of Satin Panthers will be no surprise - though the sheer wide-eyed bliss and rush-inducing feel of tracks like "Octane" and "All Your Love" - a brilliant fusion of starburst electronics, sped-up vocal samples and snappy percussion - may thrill more than usual. Throughout, there's a rainbow-tinted, high definition finish that ensures a life-affirming feel so often previously lacking from the earnest Glaswegian's rhythmically complex works. As a result, Satin Panthers is a delirious blast of fresh air.

Review: After their triumphant 2010 debut, Brooklyn boy-girl duo The Hundred In The Hands would be forgiven for succumbing to "second album syndrome" on this long awaited follow-up. That they don't is testament to their immense talents. Musically, Red Night shifts slightly from their previous output, but retains strong elements of dream-pop, avant-garde alt-rock and Walls-ish wall-of-sound electrinonica. This is best exemplified on the brilliant title track, which pits Eleanor Everdell's dreamy vocals against formidably dubbed-out atmospherics. Elsewhere, there are nods to New York's post-punk past ("Come With Me") and big, near-anthemic singalongs ("Keep It Low"), giving Red Night a formidably well-rounded feel.

Review: The godfather of electronics, Brian Eno makes a return to Warp Records. Lux, literally meaning "light", is a delicate assortment of subtle harmonics and chimerical programming. As with all of Mr.Eno's work, all of the elements seem to share an inseparable union with each other, one which manifests a specific concept. "Lux 1" is the sound of a new day, with its gentle notes playing over a majestic soundscape beneath it; whilst "Lux 2" enters more desolate grounds, where melodies are dissolved and remoulded to create a spine-chilling sea of sound. "Lux 3" is a similarly meditative musical zone, where notes remain deserted in a melancholic whirlpool of sub-drones; but "Lux 4" is the radiating light at the end of the tunnel - atmospheric and full of emotion.

Surph (radio edit) - (3:24)
from $1.99
Played by: Homegroove Project
Review: Off the back of the widely lauded Glass Swords LP, Rustie peels off a prime slice of crossover potential with a radio edit of "Surph". Featuring Nightwave on vocals, it's a blindingly bright production that cuts it with the big budget chart toppers. Fusing the stacatto synth lines of trance, boogie lead lines and the chunky drum machine work of trap rap, it's as razor-sharp a production as you're ever likely to hear. All it takes is Nightwave's honey-coated (and vocodered) R&B croon to make this a serious contender for summertime radio smash.
