Review: Some turn-of-the-noughties deep house history for you, as Kerri Chandler's fine suite of remixes of Makam's 'You Might Lose It' return to download stores. Originally, the reworks were spread across a handful of Sushitech Purple releases in 2010 and 2011, so it's nice to finally have them all in one place. The legendary New Jersey producer begins by delivering the 'Kaoz 62.3 Again' version, where hooky synth stabs and cut-up vocal snippets ride a killer bassline and tactile drums, before opting for heavier kick-drums, a more skeletal sound and after-party-friendly riffs on the sublime 'Dark Mix'. The 'JX-8P Mix' is a deeper, warmer and jazzier affair full of twinkling, jammed-out keyboard motifs, while the EP-closing 'Deep Mix' takes this vibe further in pursuit of sunset-friendly dancefloor bliss.
