Review: This fourth audio missive from the Wonderful Times stable has been picking up plays from some of the digital re-edit scene's most revered names. Given that all four tracks are tried-and-tested disco-house treats, it's easy to see why the EP has proved popular thus far. Highlights include the sexy sax cut-ups, colossal builds, swirling effects and bumping beats of Rafael Fernandez's "Ode To A.J", the fuzzy electronics, densely layered percussion and whistling melody lines of Sould Out's "Doctor Kongas", and the celebratory disco-funk rush of The Funk District's "Time Will Tell". Hotmood's loopy but essential opener, "In A Disco", is also well worth regular rotations.

Review: Wonderful Times' third outing is another compilation style affair, with a quintet or artists vibing on the label's secret ingredient (it's love, kids). NYC scalpel fiend The Silver Rider kicks things off with the swirling, filter disco blast of "Tonite" - all grunting bottom end, punchy horns and sensual vocals - before Napoleon serves up a chunky, piano-heavy rework of Buzz Compass cut "Starborn". Those looking for some big-lung diva vocals and energy-packed Clavinet lines should head straight for JP Source and Narwhal's peak-time thruster, "Give & Take", while Kumquat's "Funky Lady" - all wild Hammond organs, rugged funk guitars and well-placed dub delays - should please anyone with a passion for floor-frilling funk.

Review: Wonderful Times carry one carefree as they always have, and drop four magnetic disco bombs for the contemporary sort of soul DJ. In running order, we have "What You Got" by Luvless, a sublimely hummable little sun-kissed disco melter for the warm-up hours, the housier, more funk-filled bomb that is "Jazzy Manoeuvres" by Mannmademusic, the slo-mo house nodder that is "Show Me Love" by La Tuerie, and "Be Free" by VinylAddicted, a straight-up funk monster that is so groovy it doesn't even need a 4/4 beat. Wonderfulz.
