Review: Zukunft's last release was back in 2016, but the label returns in style courtesy of Pacifica. "Heaven Machine" is a pulsating, tranced out affair, featuring the hypnotic tones of Arvil J Baud unfolding over a crisp rhythm and hypnotic synths. By contrast, "Shuffled" is an abstract, mid-tempo affair that sees Pacifica fuse glitchy, IDM percussion with shiny trance melodies, while on "Father" they move into ambient sound scapes. Elsewhere on Heaven Machine, they return to the dance floor: "Lochergut" is a warm deep house affair that ebbs and flows to the sound of warm pads and synths unfolding over a bleep and squelch-laden groove.

Review: Swiss producer Jimi Jules has a small but perfectly formed discography. Within it, you'll find collaborations with Berlin-based big hitter Oliver $, as well as releases on both Defected and Watergate. Equinox is his debut album, and sees him successfully expand his musical repertoire beyond the club-ready deep house he's known for. Thanks to the use of musicians - drummers, guitarists and such-like - there's a loose, warm and quietly soulful feel throughout. Highlights include the dusty, tech-tinged deep house shuffle of the effortlessly soulful "Lost Love", the head-nodding, trumpet-laden modern soul warmth of "Too Young For Me", the Innervisions style atmosphere of "Truth Light", and the dubby, dusty-eyed stumble of immaculate closer "Sirup".

Review: Zurich deep house duo Jules and Spatz present "Rotwii-Lied" a dusty, trippy and low-slung jazz groove that sounds vaguely familiar and then you realise that this project features local legend Kalabrese: so it indeed makes sense. Second offering "Phaettidaense" gets properly funked up and quirky with some subtle latin drumming, warped vocals and smooth Rhodes vibes for added measure. To close this EP out in spectacular fashion, there's a killer remix of "Rotwii-Lied" by Frankfurt's finest Tuff City Kids, who deliver a feelgood retro house rendition with its bleepy analogue synth leads that will certainly get the hands in the air.
