Best Record Sleeves: March

Mute Records, Downwards, Awkward Movements and Wild Oats all feature in our latest collection of the month’s most bewitching record sleeve artwork.

The selections range from the dizzying (check the trippy black and white sleeve for Carter Tutti Void’s Transverse, which seems to follow you around the room), to the bleak (see the second instalment in the Regis retrospective on Downwards).

The routinely excellent Swamp 81 also made the cut, with the wintry New York photography that features on FaltyDL’s Mean Streets Part Two every bit as impressive as the music itself, while the debut release on the newly minted Still Going label came housed in a stylish sleeve.

Elsewhere, the hand-sprayed sleeves of Daojia’s 12″ for Awkward Movements make single copy just a little bit different (there’s a nice time lapse video which shows the amount of time and effort put into the process – check it out here), and the always on-point Workshop Records included some picturesque imagery with their latest vinyl missive.
