The Dutch artist will issue GMMDI, a fourth record through the London label in February.
In addition to sending shockwaves through the sacred land of dubstep with last week’s surprise issue of some unreleased dubs from Loefah, Berceuse Heroique signed off 2014 in fine style with the arrival of promised 12″s from Healing Force Project, Hodge and Manuel Gonzales replete with full artwork. The label will pick up where it left off in February with the previously announced debut release on its new offshoot Ancient Monarchy from Bristolian Rhythmic Theory, now set to be joined by yet another Berceuse Heroique record from Dutch artist Ekman.
For many – ourselves included – Roel Dijcks is synonymous with Berceuse Heroique. It was his Reform 12″ that launched the label is quite thunderous style early last year and the two subsequent records issued through BH this year were part of the reason we had to include them in our top labels list. As Dijcks revealed to Juno Plus earlier this year, the forthcoming “GMMDI” is short for “Gizmo Made Me Do It”, named in honour of the persistent nature of Berceuse Heroique founder. Once again the vaguely mysterious Breaker 1 2 has been commissioned to remix Ekman and both versions can be heard in full below.
Berceuse Heroique willl release GMMDI by Ekman in February.
