Review

Way back in 1995 Kruder & Dorfmeister had put the final touches to an album recorded entirely on DAT tape with a mere 10 test pressings made up to hand out to friends, colleagues and fellow eccentrics. Somehow forgotten or stored away during K&Ds epic touring schedules of the late-90s and 2000s, some 25 years later thanks to the clearing out of a dusty stockroom somewhere, a chance moving of a box revealed what will now go down as a once lost treasure chest of original Kruder & Dorfmeister material. As if cellared like a fine win, 1995 presents the German duo's undeniable downbeat, electronica, leftfield and breakbeat sound at its most golden and capsulised, reintroducing the group's original identity and modus to a world most deserving of music like this. Be it a trip down memory lane or something new, Kruder & Dorfmeister's easy jet set touches down once again.
