German label Kling Klong shows its expertise at dropping high-quality house tools. "Disco Wombat" is a functional roller made more palatable by its repetitive vocal, while "Big Rip" goes a few steps farther, with insistent electronic riffs firing their way through the arrangement. "Ink On My Arm" meanwhile puts the focus on tribalisms as hissing percussion powers heavy beats and dubby chord builds, The label has also chosen its remixers wisely. Matt Star adds some muscle to "Big Rip" with rolling snares increasing the intensity levels, while Douglas Greed's take on "Ink" is all about the interplay between the hissing percussion and jacking rhythm. Best of all though is Mario Piu's take on "Wombat", where chords break dramatically over a rolling techno groove.
