Following his recent release on Syncrophone, Ackermann delivers this old school-influenced EP for the Rekids offshoot RSPX. The title track features a looped female vocal sample and dramatic chords set to urgent, skipping drums and a lithe rhythm. In a similar vein, is the frenetic "Push", which features break neck speed drums. On "Love Is Good", Ackermann combines soulful vocals with insistent piano keys, set to a snaking groove. It makes for an uplifting track that draws heavily on the heritage of US house. Stripping his sound back, closing track "Wiggle Your Neck" sees him deliver a rolling tribal groove.Get new release alerts
