Dublin's Aidan Casserly doesn't release tonnes of material under his own name - the majority of his finished material is spread across three other monikers - but what he does put out is always very much on our menu. Last time he released an EP under his name was in 2011 on Ninthwave Media, so we're glad to see him back with an album for Werkstatt Recordings. Incubus is a wild, diverse LP which spans many different styles and incorporates a great number of influences throughout its ten tracks, a general sound that fits in line with the all-compassing term that is 'coldwave'. Having said that, there is something very nostalgic about these tunes, and they're certainly drenched in an 80's kind of neb-romanticism. This is particularly true of tracks like "City As A Memory", "Funeral For Two" - which adds a little porto-techno vibe to its framework - and the angelic sways of "Slow" featuring Kriistal Ann. All in all, however, this is simply some good indie electronic material with a dark edge.
What is Album Only?
Some artists and labels prefer certain tracks to be purchased as part of an entire release. These tracks cannot be purchased individually but are available to download as part of the release
