Now based in Mexico City, Alejandro Veneno is a conservatoire-trained Argentinian musician and composer whose work has soundtracked numerous films and adverts. But he also does a neat sideline in electronic music, and if synth-disco throbbers are your idea of a good time you'll want to check out 'Monte La Tablada' for sure. A sonically spacious cosmic workout in its original form, the track first gets an 80s-styled, sci-fi tinged makeover from Duncan Gray, before Matt Gunn and Al Mackenzie bring us a couple of more radical overhauls, Gunn's Psych Mix veering into rocky, Chems-ish territory while Mackenzie's rub will be the pick for house and techno floors.
