UK DJ/producer Alex Virgo heads up his own Pomme Frite label but has also chalked up releases on Skint, Future Disco and Lost Palms. Here, he returns to the latter with a six-track EP that, broadly speaking, operates somewhere on the cusp between 'tech' and 'progressive' house, with driving, no-nonsense kicks and big, euphoric synth riffs much in evidence throughout. It's all plenty playable and has bags of energy, but 'Charge The Gun' is the standout for yours truly, as Virgo tones down the blissed-out vibes in favour of a slightly grungier, ravier feel with echoes of early Prodigy material.Get new release alerts
