Back in February, former Brownswood Recordings' signees Anushka returned to action for the first time in three years with 'You My Love', an off-kilter chunk of dusty electronic soul rich in flowery piano motifs, oddball electronics and jazz-inflected vocals. 'Speak To Me', the London-based outfit's speedy sequel, is a little more up-tempo in tone, with Victoria Wheeler's sweet vocals rising above warming jazz-funk bass, twinkling electric piano motifs and beats that sit somewhere between deep house and dancefloor soul. It's really rather good, all told. Along with a tidy instrumental version, the EP also boasts the more excitable Wheelup Remix, a jazzy and loose-limbed broken beat revision built around more intergalactic-sounding chords and a rubbery electronic bassline.
