On this excellent archive style reissue, Jerome Derradji celebrates the greatest hits of short-lived Chicago 1980s acid label Westbrook Records (the personal imprint of producer Chris Westbrook, AKA Bam Bam). Bam Bam's "Where's Your Child" and Armando's "Land of Confusion" are acid house must-haves (the latter arguably being the single greatest acid track of all time, though that's clearly a matter of debate), while Bam Bam's "Move To Da Groove" brilliantly blends acid tweakery with hip-house era funk. If all that 303 tweakery gets a little too much, Westbrook's loose, piano-laden "Nightlife" is as breezy and sweet as they come.
