Debutant duo Ben and Dylan have an interesting musical history, including scoring the music on two Oscar-nominated documentaries. This first collaborative EP reflects the club-focused side of their complex musical personalities, flitting between escapist, dream-like techno (opener "Hanging Waters", where swelling, orchestral style movements ride a busy groove), breathless breakbeat dreaminess (the ambient house influenced warmth of "Crush'), dusty, jazz-flecked and sample-heavy deep house headiness ("Bipedal Bears"), and the kind of fiendishly cut-up, bass-heavy deep house drowsiness more often associated with S3A ("Roo"). As you'd perhaps expect given their little-known musical history, all four tracks are superbly produced, musically detailed, and exceptionally atmospheric.Get new release alerts
