Review

Ben Pest, known for his electrifying live hardware-based sets, has once again proved his mettle with his latest electro track 'Robotic Sales', released on the Brighton-based label Orson. The opening track, 'Robotic Sales' (Acid Redux), sets the tone for the EP with its perfect blend of scorching acid pads, powerful electro percussion, and roboticised vocal samples, all accompanied by 80s-style synths, making it a classic hit. The EP takes a turn with 'Wobbly Eggs', which deconstructs the typical dance track structure, presenting key melodic components during the breakdown, and then disappearing as the track returns to its main body. 'Beefcase', the most acid-heavy track on the EP, is guaranteed to make the dance floor shake, while the final track, 'Charizard Dream', is perfect for those moments of peak-time ecstasy.
