Review
After a number of compilations, the California-based Tiptop Audio puts a focus on artist releases. Ironically though the title track from this EP by Black Shape, aka Piero Fragola and Mattia Tuliozi, had already featured on one of the label's collections. That said, for new entrants to Tiptop, it's a good introduction to their electronic disco sound and over moody pulses, an indie guitar plays out. "The River" is in a similar vein, albeit with a deadpan vocal leading the way, while "Wild Path" sees the pair at their very darkest as a doomy bass cuts through the arrangement with gut-busting efficacy. The remixes of the title track veer from Matteo Gatti's heads-down club treatment to Ayarcana's broken beat industrial and Avenir & Restivo's big room techno reshape.Get new release alerts
