Hot on the heels of their first mini-album of De La Soul re-rubs, Boogie Down Edits drop a second selection of revisions that take Daisy Age hip-hop jams and re-wire them for house-loving 21st century dancefloors. As usual, they've delivered multiple takes on the same source tracks, delivering at least one vocal edit and a 'clubstramental' of each selected jam. They begin by delivering warming, languid and sun-splashed takes on 'Buddy', before cannily combining elements of 'Eye Know' with the Steely Dan number De La Soul sampled. There's a funky, hot-to-trot hip-house flex to the Los Angeles collective's versions of 'Ring Ring Ring', while 'Say No Go' is given a trio of reworks that smartly mix and match sections of the '3 Feet High and Rising' classic and the Hall & Oates jam it's based on.
